United Times (once named 'The Chinese Bridge') is a professional newspaper specifically designed for the massive Chinese Community in Australia. The mission is to work as a bridge between various government organizations and Australian local community and the Chinese associations,Chinese schools, new migrants and students. The aim is to provide mutual-understanding between the Australian government and society and the Chinese communities and various Chinese organizations.
The current circulation is 20,000 (selling for $1.5 ea) and in Victoria only, but our goal is to publish United Times Australia-wide and circulation will be 40,000.
At present, there are thousands of Asian students studying in Australia, including students from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. In Victoria alone, the number of students from Asian countries has reached thirty to forty thousand, with the highest
number in Monash University. In addition, there are also tens of thousands of Chinese migrants living in Victoria, with over one hundred Chinese associations. Therefore, United Times provides government and entertainment information to the Chinese migrants and students.
There are different sections in United Times Newspaper. Its columns cover government information, community news, business news, university dynamic news, Chinese teaching, student life, local newspaper summaries, travel information, China news, and community services news. In general, providing best information services to the Chinese community is our organizational goal.
